Chair crazy...

Lately I feel like I have been a little obsessed with chairs... The old ugly ones that nobody wants, but when I see them I think I can fix it and make it new again..When we first moved into our house the prev owners left this gem behind down in the basement.. As you could imagine I got so excited and I'm pretty sure my husband thought I was crazy....Here is the before picture... so sad....And then my after...much better don't ya think?

This next beauty was found when My friend Jane and I was out thriftin one day. It was on a tall pile of furniture that the sales guy had to climb up to get.. The best part is it was only 2 dollars... woo hoo....After a good cleaning, paint and fabric its a new piece of furniture in my home. Thanks for stopping by... Have a wonderful day!!!

the fireplace redo

Good Morning Everyone.... This morning I decided to go back and reread all of my post, the first thru the third one had me in tears. Not because I was sad but by seeing how God has changed my life. I was so nervous for the big move to Kansas and now I could not see myself living anywhere else. We love it here and feel this is now HOME.. Shortly after finding out we was moving I read this in scripture Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," says the  Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope...Praise Jesus for his plans they are way better than my own... He is in control not me.

I know I promised after pics of the family room, but I have come down with a nasty head cold and have no energy to decorate and take pics.. so It will have to wait til this girl is feeling better. I do have a before and after shot of the fireplace. The before is the top picture. Dark and outdated.. I was blogging one day and came across a blog called The Yellow Cape Cod... she had white washed their fireplace and it looked amazing.. After pleading with the hubby he said I could do it... The after is so bright and clean... I still need to pull off the front piece and spray paint black.. But I will get to it sometime soon... If you are wondering how I did it is so easy... I took 2 cups white on white latex paint, 2 cups water  stir stir stir.... Then brush it on  a few bricks at a time with your other hand use a towel to blot off the extra.. I didn't have newspaper and all that down due to no flooring in yet. But you will want to cover your floors well It is very messy. But so worth it.  I think I will go snuggle up on the sofa with a hot cup of tea now. Thanks for stopping by have a great day..

Out with the Old and in with New... The family room

Hello.. well we have been at it again.. This time the much hated family room.. We are talking 1970 dark wall paneling, popcorn ceiling, and not so new carpet.. Ugh.. I sat in this room for 4 months and talk about depressing... But thanks to my amazing hubby he said Yes to redo...I don't think I've been so excited to tear down walls as I was here... I'm talking big smile and butterflies in tummy...Here are some before picts of this beauty... NOT.... excuse the little model on the couch..lol.. silly kid..
The beams are now down but not forgotten, I have plans for them... at least the wood part.. Also the fireplace does not look the same. We was so happy to see there was sheet rock under most of the paneling. And our drywall guys did an amazing job. You can already see how much brighter and bigger it got with the paneling down. We also had some windows  replaced while we was in the process. Stay tuned for the after.....have a wonderful day..thanks for stopping by.
